Texodus: What does it mean for tech to leave the Bay Area?
With the announcement from tech giants like Facebook and Twitter that most of their employees can work from home forever, many people are expecting a mass tech exodus from the Bay Area—a texodus, if you will.
For some, it’s a call for celebration, a release of the pressure valve of affordability in the region. For others, it’s an omen of shrinking budgets in the face of an economic downturn. Will this texodus actually happen, and if so, how will it affect the workers, neighborhoods, and communities in the Bay?
Join us on Thursday, June 25th to hear experts on housing and workforce & labor weigh in on the issue.
The panel will be moderated by Catherine Bracy, Co-Founder and Executive Director of TechEquity Collaborative.
Panelist include:
- Kim-Mai Cutler, Partner at Initialized & Author of How Burrowing Owls Lead To Vomiting Anarchists
- Katelin Holloway, Partner at Initialized
- Molly Turner, Lecturer at University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business
